High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is obtained through coordinative polymerization. This polyethylene is resistant to wear, though less so than UHMW. However, it represents a more cost-effective option than the latter.
Resistant to chemicals, it is also FDA-approved and well-suited for use in the food and medical industries. Its high flexibility makes it easily thermoformable and weldable. It doesn't crush or break under high pressure. It's worth noting that HDPE is also available with a textured finish.
